Pokémon: Trading Card Game: State Championships

Pokémon USA, Inc., a worldwide leader in trading card games, today announced the Pokémon® Trading Card Game (TCG) State Championships. State Championships provide players the opportunity to succeed at an intellectual sport and test a player’s Pokémon TCG skill, strategy and creativity.

Players To Compete In Free Event For State Champion Title and a Chance to Compete at Nationals

Pokémon TCG State Championships are open to all players and will be held the weekends of March 4 – 19, 2006. Competitors are divided into three age categories: 10 and younger, 11 to 14, and 15 and older. All participants will receive a State Championship promo card and winners will have the opportunity to advance to the National Championships, leading to the final title series tournament: the Pokémon TCG World Championships. Prizes are awarded to the top eight players in each age category and include Pokémon TCG booster packs and Pokémon merchandise. First place winners will receive a State Champion trophy and travel allowance to attend the National Championships in July.
