Pokémon Dolls Recalled, May Contain Needles

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced Friday the recall of 9,200 Pokémon plush toys.

The recall involves 10 "PokéDoll" characters named Pikachu, Minun, Plusle, Skitty, Evee, Munchlax, Mew, Ho-Oh, and Lugia.
Pokémon USA Inc. of New York, N.Y., is voluntarily recalling about 9,200 Pokémon Plush Toys. The stuffing of the toy may contain tips of sewing needles which could pose a puncture hazard.

The CPSC says the toy's stuffing may contain tips of sewing needles that can pose puncture hazards.

No injuries have been reported.

The China-made dolls were sold at Nintendo World, 10 Rockefeller Plaza, New York City, and on the firm's Web site from April through June for between $8 and $20.

Nintendo of America Inc., at the E3 Conference in Los Angeles, also gave the PokéDoll plush toys away as promotions in May.

Parents should take the toys away from children immediately and contact Pokémon USA to receive a free replacement toy.
